Who We Are & What We Do

Three Grains of Rice Missions is a 501(c)(3) non-profit corporation established in July 2016 to share God’s love and mercy in our neighborhood, our community and our world, leaving those we encounter with a smile and a full heart.

Through Volunteering, Outreach and Support, the three pillars of our foundation, we will forge strong and lasting relationships with the homeless community, organizations that help those in need and individuals who want to reach out and serve.

We are motivated by the joy that shines through a child’s face and the hope witnessed in the men and women we meet. We are inspired when we see outreach come full circle as those that receive love and compassion are offering that same kindness to others.

There are many ways to serve and support Three Grains of Rice Missions such as volunteering, in-kind gifts and monetary donations.  Read about our programs below and then visit the Get Involved page for current opportunities. To see our teams in action, check out our Photo Gallery.

SUMMER CAMPAIGN

OUR PROGRAMS

Three Grains of Rice Missions provides support locally and internationally to individuals and organizations that we have established a relationship with.  Areas of focus include:

  • Community Outreach
  • Volunteerism
  • Sponsorship of international missions with an emphasis on youth and elderly programs
  • Project planning and management for repairs and updates for shelter facilities
  • Liaison for in-kind donation collection and distribution to our partners

Our Community Outreach program was created from the belief that every personal encounter has meaning.  Our purpose is to spread friendship and kindness through one-on-one interaction not only with the homeless and less fortunate but with all members of the community.  Each activity we plan represents our hopes of love, happiness and celebration, sentiments we wish to share with everyone we encounter.

  • Care Packages
  • Ladies Craft Night
  • The Storybook Nook (children’s reading program)
  • Hanging with the Kiddos (games, crafts, scavenger hunts, ice cream social, etc)
  • Special events and field trips for women and children
  • Companionship visits with the elderly

LINK represents the core values of volunteering with Three Grains of Rice Missions:

Love everyone  Inspire & encourage  Nurture with compassion  Kindness in abundance

Three Grains of Rice Missions has a goal to create an “army of volunteers” and connect them with opportunities to serve not only with Three Grains of Rice Missions through our Compass and Aurora programs, but directly with our partner organizations as well. Volunteering comes in many forms such as serving meals, facility improvements and upgrades, yard clean-up and beautification, clerical assistance, sponsoring or hosting craft night, activities and special events, sorting and distributing clothing, making in-kind donations of new and gently used items as well as monetary donations.  With so many needs in the community there is sure to be an opportunity that speaks to your heart.  Each one of us has something to give: time, skills, talents, knowledge, advocacy, prayers or financial support.

Through LINK we are creating stronger connections and healthier communities because volunteering enriches the lives of those we serve and those who are serving.
