While COVID19 has impacted a number of our outings, it has not stopped our construction team from fighting the fight against homelessness:
This year we have completed a porch, upgraded a wheel chair ramp and will have four apartments finished for the homeless community in St. Augustine (in support of the St. John’s Homeless Coalition). During 2022, we are targeting the upgrades of 10 houses in St. Augustine, as well as the Trinity Rescue Mission Women and Children’s Center in Duval. Come and join us!
We have updated our Needs List for 2021-2022.

In November, we had the privilege to treat the women and men from the City Rescue Mission recovery program with a day outing to the Jaguar game.
What a joyful experience it was for all of us. CRM is doing an awesome job sharing God’s love and mercy to those fighting addiction – we love partnering with them. A BIG Thank You goes to the Jaguar Foundation for their support.
It was great to see the JAGS win. But what it was truly special was to be able to share the moment with the men from the City Rescue Mission and the Hogar Crea Recovery Centers. It was also special to include representatives from Fostering Hope, the St. John’s Homeless Coalition and some of our volunteers. Go JAGS!
The final container was loaded and is on its way to Cuba. This included many items – bicycles as a means of transportation for the pastors, food, medical supplies, mobility devices and many more.
We have received approval for two additional containers for the first quarter of 2022.
We participated on a food distribution event where the remainder of the groceries were donated to 3G – end result – 11 additional pallets of food were picked up and are being distributed locally and internationally.
Over 57,000 health bars were received! Some of these items have been shipped to Haiti, Colombia and to Cuba.
When answering a phone call —we never know what God has planned for us – 40 lightly used 32” televisions were donated.
They are being leveraged for Haiti and for transitional housing locally.
Working on the final steps for the selection criteria for our scholarship program.
FCCJ has a number of potential certifications that would allow our single moms to ascertain the necessary skills to promptly elevate their income. I have a meeting with the college to discuss their matching program. My hope is that they would agree to match the $4,000 we will start with.
An organization that is providing Christian ladies in India, Pakistan and two Muslim countries with training to become self-sufficient through entrepreneurship has reached out to us for potential partnership.
We both have plans to leverage sawing as a tool. We are investigating the opportunity.
Thank you for your prayers.
On October 16th we partnered with Feeding Northeast Florida, the Jaguars, and the Hispanic Chamber of Commerce to distribute a tractor trailer of food to our local community.
We had our Board Meeting on November 18th at our facility in the City Rescue Mission Campus.
Cup of Love – takes place the last Saturday of every month in downtown Jacksonville from 8:30-11:00. We serve between 150-250 of individuals in need
2022 is bringing a large number of construction projects – We will be conducting upgrades to 10 homes for the homeless community in St. Augustine. We also plan to be working at the women and children’s center at Trinity Rescue Mission and at City Rescue Mission. These will include painting, building, repairs and cleaning.
Beautification of the facilities we work with will bring about dignity and hope to the residents – The work will include weeding, planning, mulching and yard creativity.
Join La Cocinita – While 90% of our work effort is in Northeast Florida, we also work with a number of international organizations in the Caribbean, Central and South America. We are looking for a number of individuals with a passion for international missions. The idea is to identify needs, create a strategic vision, collect necessary items, schedule shipments and plan mission trip opportunities.

And a few words of encouragement from our President, Ed Perez:
Let us remember that we are in God’s hands, His feet, His eyes and His heart. It is through each and every one of us that his love and mercy is distributed. Let’s care for one another.
Every day we make decisions that will determine if we are going to be a consumer or a contributor to our community. The healthiness of a society is directly associated with the active participation of each of its members. You and I have the ability to love and nurture, to be an energetic contributor by leveraging our God given talents. We are a community and we all have a role to play. Never underestimate the power that an act of kindness can have in bringing about change in a human life.
The most precious gift we can give is our time – for in doing so, we are giving part of our life. We cannot buy it back or recreate it once it has been invested. At Three Grains of Rice Missions we are so grateful to our army of volunteers who so freely share their time to care for those in need.
The greatest preaching – our greatest message comes not from our mouth, but rather, from our actions. Authentic faith will bear the fruit of good works. Let’s make this month reflective of the same level of love, forgiveness, care and mercy that we have received from our mighty God!
